Xyst was engaged to review the functions and services undertaken by the Parks and Recreation team within the Operations business unit at Nelson City Council.
The review sought to understand which functions and services Council’s Parks and Recreation Team currently provides in regards to the operational management of Council’s parks, reserves, and public facilities, the current state of these functions and services, and the effectiveness and efficiency of the current team resourced to deliver them.
Additionally, the review sought to understand how the outputs and outcomes which Council and the community require from Council’s parks, reserves, and public facilities are determined, whether there is an agreed set of deliverables for the Parks and Recreation Team and whether there are any gaps or over-delivery in the management of such services and functions.
