And Surface Impact Testing
Xyst was engaged to undertake two Level 3 Playground Safety Inspections at OneSchool Global Nelson and to conduct surface impact testing around play equipment to ensure its compliance ahead of the 2026 school year.
Xyst performed the inspection and testing of synthetic surfacing in accordance with EN 1177:2018 and NZS 5828:2015. Our inspection of this site assessed the playgrounds general surrounds, Free Height of Fall (FHoF), free Space, fall zones, and provided equipment specific assessments.
Our surface impact testing was conducted using a Triax surface impact tester, and cross referenced the FHoF with the surfacing underneath. Compliance and impact testing data was then assessed ensuring a suitable critical fall height was provided, and that any drops at the FHoF had a compliant Head Injury Criterion, GMax, and impact duration.
