Willoughby Council manages an extensive and diverse portfolio of open space and parks assets across its Local Government Area and wanted to ensure that all playground assets are accurately recorded.
The project focussed on playground asset data verification, identification of new or disposed assets, condition rating in accordance with the IPWEA scales, and estimation of remaining useful life. The outputs were compatible with Council’s asset management and geographical information systems to enable seamless integration of asset data.
The outcomes of this project include the delivery of a robust and validated dataset of playground assets, improved understanding of asset condition, and actionable recommendations to inform ongoing management, renewal planning and budget forecasting.
