CPTED Site Assessments and Report

Albert-Eden Parks

Xyst carried out daytime CPTED assessments across six parks, with two of these sites also receiving night‑time lighting assessments.

Working closely with Auckland Council, we developed a strong understanding of each park’s context and evaluated key CPTED elements including natural surveillance, access and wayfinding, territorial definition, maintenance, and community presence and activation.

Based on this analysis, we provided detailed recommendations outlining priority actions for both the short and longer term.

Project Benefit

Xyst worked with Auckland Councils Parks and Community Facilities team to conduct CPTED (Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design) Site Assessments across 6 of their Albert-Eden Ward parks and provided detailed reports on each – making recommendations for prioritised short-term actions, and long-term strategies to improve user safety and further activate positive park usage.
