I have over 30 years local government experience, holding a range of positions within community development, open space, recreation and sport and community assets portfolios. I was instrumental in developing the first Open Space and Sport Plan for the newly formed City of Onkaparinga in 1998 and for the last 25 years I have been instrumental in the development of subsequent plans in this specialised field.
This includes a further three Council endorsed open space strategic management plans, asset management plans for the open space portfolio and a number of recreation and sport management plans.

My expertise
I have worked in a variety of positions for many years with all having a high level of political and community interest. I possess exceptional skills in dealing with complex matters. I devised a model for project delivery that resulted in projects within my area of responsibility being delivered on time and within budget, while at the same time meeting community expectations. Much of this success was based on the consultative approach I encouraged with elected members, the community and across council teams.

Having delivered over 250 open space and sport and recreation projects within the last 20 years, I have developed a comprehensive and strong knowledge of project management. Decades of working across a variety of departments has allowed me to develop a comprehensive understanding of local government operations which allows me to work at all levels. I have strong knowledge of maintenance levels, service levels, project management, strategic planning, asset management, contract management and community engagement. These skills will allow me to support and add value to the Xyst team.
