CPTED Site Assessments and Reporting

This project involved travelling to Matamata, Morrinsville, and Te Aroha to complete the physical CPTED site assessments for three public toilets and three parks across the district.

Each visit included a structured walkthrough of the facilities and surrounding environments, supported by detailed note‑taking and comprehensive photographic records.

Following the assessments, individual reports were produced for the Matamata-Piako District Council, including CPTED performance scores for each site, analysis of key safety and design issues, and clear, prioritised recommendations to enhance safety, usability, and community confidence.

Project Benefit

Xyst completed CPTED site assessments for three public toilets and three parks in Matamata, Morrinsville, and Te Aroha giving Matamata-Piako District Council clear, practical guidance to improve safety, visibility, and community use. The reports highlight design changes that reduce crime and antisocial behaviour, while helping the Council prioritise upgrades and plan future investment in safer, more welcoming public spaces.
